Japanese beetles

I have been sucking these stupid bugs up in my dustbuster for weeks, and it has really gotten worse in the last week. Are these nasty things all over the US now, or just the midwest? :(

They used to be plauge like here a few years ago but have really dropped off. Hardly have even noticed them to much.
