Hi All,

Would anyone like to join me for the adult skate at Skate Land on the West side of Indy (3902 N Glen Rd) this Thursday? The session is from 9 PM to 1:00 AM. The website of the skating rink is http://www.skatelandindy.com.

Their Skatosaurus is still green, they dyed our USA's purple. Skato, just one more casualty of the WOW Family Funcenter experiemnt.

Do you know (if your old enough to remember) is this the rink that they used to call United Skates of America? It had a big U.S.A. with a skate? on the sign, I think. I looked at the pictures and some of it looks familar, but I can't tell for sure. I am originally from Avon and am wondering if this is my childhood rink. I was in the graduating class of 1982.

It's a still a USA rink, they've changed the names of some of them for dif reasons but if its on the United SKates of America website then its still a corperate rink.

I've never skated in Indy but is this the one that right off the outerbelt close to 70 on the east side?

It looks like it is on the north-west side and right off 70. I bet this is my old rink, cause it was a new rink back then. Sounds like I just need to time visits to my cousin over there around the adult skates, and maybe dust her old skates off and drag her over with me. :D

Skate land is on the West side near 38th and High School Rd. They have adult skates on Thursdays and Sundays at at 9 PM.

I believe the old Melody Skateland was on the West side also. It burnt down. Here are pictues of it http://www.myspace.com/melodyskateland

There is a rink in Avon called Rock & Rollers that have an adult skate on Wed at 6:30 pm. I'm planning on going this Wed night. They play 80's music. Come out and join us.

I grew up going to Roll Arena in Anderson. I'm Highland class of 1983.

We moved to Illinois when I was 12, were you skating there as a kid, little sk8er? I am pretty sure this used to be United Skates of America, looking at the pictures of the pro shop, rental counter, snack bar. It was done in red, white, and blue decor back then. Plus, this would have been the closest one to Avon where we lived and I know my folks never took as to Melody, although I heard afterwards it was awesome.

If you think about it and there is someone who has been around the rink a long time, would you please ask? 80's music is about right for our age group, but I work during the week. I wish there were some adult nights around central Il like that. Maybe next time I take some vacation time, I will go see my cousin and make it out there.:)
