Does anyone here do any do-it-yourself skate projects?

I thought that shopping cart wheels would make awesome (and FAST) skate wheels. You'd have to make some custom frames, though. And you'd be pretty high off the ground, making it hard to balance...but who cares? This isn't a practical idea, just some fun.

Hey - one of the guys producing those frames is our friend Frank Raecker - aka "Bierfrank (http://www.raecker.com/bierfrank/)" from the Frankfurt Tuesday Night Skate (http://www.t-n-s.de/) in Germany. Cool!

I've often thought of making some stilts with wheels. I probably won't go with 4' off the ground just yet, though.

5 - wheeled are called skeelers, 6-wheeled screapers, and these 9-wheeled skladders. Not preferable, due to superfluid speeding tickets.
