STANFORD UNIVERSITY WEDNESDAY NIGHT SKATE

There is a very nice group skate every Wednesday night at Stanford University in Palo Alto, Northern California. This skate has been happening for many years. It has a nice route with smooth surfaces. Skaters meet in the Museum Way parking lot and the skate begins at about 7:30 or 7:45.

Directions from Highway 280: Take Sandhill exit east, right on Arboretum, right on Palm Dr., right on Museum Way.

Directions From Highway 101: Take University exit West. Stay on University, as you pass over El Camino, this will turn into Palm Dr. Right on Museum Way.

The downtown San Jose skate is on every Thursday evening at 7 (weather permitting). Group gets together in front of St. John's park. The course is about 6 miles of (mainly) good pavement, no hills. See the Yahoo group page (http://sports.groups.yahoo.com/group/SJRB/) for more info.

I'll be going to the bay area 1/14-18, staying in the Menlo Park area. I'm assuming that the Stanford skate is still happening (Kathy's note was from last March). Any other "during the week" skates in the area? I'll be leaving Friday, so can't do the Friday night skate in SFO.

Just did it last Friday, and had an absolute blast. There is a unique "San Francisco vibe" to the group, friendly, fun and colorful.
If you're in the area on a Friday night, don't pass it up!
