Okay, when I skate, I'm usually concentrating on my skating. If I'm not, I'm thinking about girls or T.V. I was just wondering what the rest of you think about.

when im skating, most of the time im thinking about how i wish i had a better place to skate, and more importantly, someone to skate with.
hungryrollerblader
September 24th, 2006, 02:26 AM
yeah, I wish I had someone to skate with too.

Seeing as i have noone to skate with either, except my skateboarding pals, i usually put on the headphones. Focusing on the music really helps me get in tune with my skating. But once i get in that zone, everything gets zoned out completely, and I literally think of nothing. It's hard to explain

I'd like to do that, but I always worry about falling and landing on my MP3 player.

I ALWAYS concentrate on making beautiful music with the girls I see on TV.

i think about how i can do better, how sick stuff could be, i wish i had more rollers in my town, when i skate alone i use my MP3...i keep it in my left pocket because i tend to fall on my right side...and when i dont have an MP3 i play the chorus of a song over in my head...its better than nothing:cool:

Yeah, i just buy some crappy thing that i don't worry about as much as i would if i had some mad expensive one. My phone though, i always tuck into my shoes and then toss it under the big bank so that noone punks it. If I'm trying a new trick/variation of an old one, I try and concentrate on what was going on when i did it the first time i landed it, and picture it in my head.

things not 2 think about
-NEVER think about things that are important or stressfull ike tests and exams...if you do you will get stressed and mad at your skating and will not perform properly, and you can get hurt
-NEVER think about things in life that have happend and you wernt proud off...1 time i was thinkin about a test i failed and i was fallin all over the place lookin real sloppy
-NEVER get stressed out while skating...its sposed 2 be relaxing, not a job, just have fun and put everything that is stressfull out of your mind and have fun

It is kinda relaxing. Emotionally, not physically. That's one of my favorite parts of skating.

usually. Until a girl shows up at the skate park. Then I get stressed, trying to look like I know what I'm doing.

When i skate i feel so free. i have fun everytime i skate. i dont think too hard about what trick to do next and i dont think too hard when im trying a new trick. when i fall it makes me wanna get up and try it again. When i skate i dont think of girls unless theres a girl skater  I do think of one thing all the time tho. which is how much fun i have when i skate with my mates(street skating), park kinda bores me

I have fun, as long as nobody messes it up. When the skateboarders yell "fruit-booter" I feel like I have to be better for them to shut up, but I usually just ignore them.
When I fall, as long as I'm not hurt to the point that I can't skate, it makes me wanna do it again too.

i never get called a fruit booter cuz rollin isnt that big over here...i mostly get called gay:mad: and that gets me pretty pissed...what i hate the most is when your tryin 2 land a trick and you get tormented by skaters 4 falling, that always sucks because you lse confidence

you know what, though? If you count every time they mess up, and end up getting off their boards, the "mess up' ratio" will be at least 5:1

even when i have music playing, i usualy end up thinking about life and deep things, then i fall or a song i like a lot will come one and ill start paying attention to the song or why i fell, untill i get over it then back to the deep thoughts

Whoa, I've never thought of that, but you're totally right. Everytime a boarder bails it's the same thing as us falling because... well, we can't bail haha. Good call.
I usually cocentrate on my skating, otherwise, I'm thinking of what I'm going to eat later lol

just imagine, if they actually fell to the ground EVERY time, like we do, they'd be so frustrated that they'd quit. Our screw-ups are worse, but theirs are so much more often

This is sweet! Now that we have a new park, theres a bunch of people who wanna take up rollin, so now I won't be alone. But they're waiting for the spring, so I have to wait until then. Oh well, the more people rollin = more fun

so far when I've been skating I'm with my childhood friend and we laugh and talk about things we use to do at the rink. I love it when they play old songs that I grew up, and I wonder if the teenagers even know how cool the songs were back in the day. I love to watch the people in the middle of the rink doing the Soul train Dance, the funky jive stuff!!! It's sooo cool looking. I would love to learn how to so some of groovey moves. Most of the time I'm trying to look cool and trying not to fall, I'm still getting used to my new wheels very sticky!!!

Fruit-booter is a malicious term that skateboarders use to express their desire to afford and be able to ride top-quality aggressive inline skates.
hungryrollerblader

well, that's one way to put it. But yeah, its an insult that boarders and bikers use.

ok, when i'm alone in the park i listen music, it stimulates. when there are others with who i might have a conversation, or when i'm with friends, i turn it off.
I'm not yet good enough to be able not to concentrate :(

when you're new, that's when you should concentrate most. But, dont get so concentrated that you space out. Then, you end up running into someone.

Eh, honestly I dont' mind it. I'll even call myself a fruitbooter sometimes. Just doesn't bother me. As for the rest of your post: lol

It doesn't mean that much to me anymore, either. Sometimes, I refer to my skates as "Fruit-boots."

what's stupid is that this one kid will insult me, then ill insult him back, so he'll roll his board at my feet, expecting it to hurt. Um, ahem, there's a little something called plastic on the outside of my skates.

Yes, that would be when you take his board and either destroy it, or put it somewhere out of his reach, like the road for example, or on top of a building/house

Yesterday, I tried skating while listening to music and I was amazed at myself. I was hitting basically everything I tried. Then my friend came and we started talking so I took my headphones off and I started messing up.
Conclusion: Music makes me a better skater :P
