Yesterday did a small round of skating (16 km) from home over the "road to kralingen" (old roman road) and then around the kralingen lake (kralingen is a noble and old district of rotterdam)

apart from many other sporting people...

Gorgeous! Can I move there? :) You won't mind if we camp in your garage with the boat? We would only be there at night, really, the rest of the time we'd be out skating...

lol... first off , i don't have a garage. I am very glad to, otherwise pigs would build a nest there and I'd be thrown from the neighbourhood ;)
the boat is just outside, in the rain. yes. mind you. rain. Holland is a wet country - that's why we have those windmills and stuff you know

but if you don t mind living in an overcrowded place with lotsa problems of imported islamic people and free cannabis use, a speedo-ticket-camera every 4 miles and no movement whatsoever on the highways (they're effectively just car-parks). welcome to the royal kingdom of the netherlands !!!

Rain? What rain? It's true that all the native folks at SkateFresh said we were really lucky to have but one afternoon of precipitation. :p

Holland is really fantastic skating country, thank you for reminding me! :D And a good thing I got a short but vigorous skate around town under my wheels today, so the envy thing is complemented by skating euphoria.

Do you skate in winter too?

We have the same problems with our roads and imported people here in NYC; unfortunetely we don't have have the free cannibis use (lucky dutch).

I have been to Holland 4 times, and will return many more times. The Dutch, and your country are definetely some of the nicest, friendliest, honest and best educated people on earth. If I had to live anywhere else other than the USA Holland would be my first pick. Be proud of your country and its people; the Dutch ROCK!!!!

yep, Rotterdam also has de best possible opportunities to be rollersoccer city nr 1, when you look at the great number of concrete sportfields and its city administration's special effort to bring sport to its inhabitans, by providing sports atributes too the children in the poor (''black'') neighbourhoods , without having them to pay for it.Its a great example! Sometimes I play rollersoccer with these Turkish,Marokan, Pakistan, Iraki and Caribian children. The city administration even provides elumination at some sportfields every day in the wintertime till 23.00 hour
