"MARYLAND RAIL TRAIL (http://www.hancockmd.com/WMRT/info.html) DETAILS

We will make another trip to the Western Maryland Rail Trail on Saturday, September 8, 2007 .

The skate begins at 10:00AM in Hancock, Md. at the center of the path in Hancock. (directions (http://www.rollerquest.com/direction.htm#MARYLAND%20RAIL%20TRAIL)) The skate will begin at the "Paved metered" lot.

Anyone wishing to caravan should meet us at the "Park and Ride" at LongGate Parkway (directions (http://www.rollerquest.com/direction.htm#CARPOOL%20SITE%E2%80%94HOWARD%20COUNTY%20PARK%20AND%20RIDE)). We will leave promptly at 8:00AM

The path is approximately 22 miles long. We will start in the center of the path in Hancock and skate west to the end and return to Hancock to break for refreshments and regroup. Please bring your own refreshments. This segment is about 24 miles. After the break, those who choose to skate the entire path can continue and skate east and back for another 20 miles and end back at the starting point.

This skate is appropriate for all skate levels. The group will spread out quickly, so bring along someone who skates at your pace. The path is flat, sweet and has lovely scenery. There are no water fountains on the path so bring your own form of hydration. Hope to see you there.

For more information about the Trail see this description."

I have skated this trail and it is the nicest trail that I know of. Do this one if you can.
