I do most thanksgivings at my grandparents’ house in Carborro, NC. I’ve discovered that Chapel Hill itself is utterly deserted all day long, and have done some awesome skating there in the past with the whole town, including Franklin Street and the UNC campus, at my exclusive disposal. Jenn and I will be tearing it up that morning, anybody wanna join us?
For those not in this area, I recommend taking advantage of the holiday as an opportunity to skate somewhere otherwise impossible, such as your local downtown area or a really desirable road that always has too much traffic to be appealing. (Bonus points will be awarded if you have Alice’s Restaurant playing continuously on your iPod at the time. (Moreso if it’s the live version that talks about the gap in the Watergate tapes.))
