Dear skaters around the world,
24skate - the one and only truely global skate event - takes place for its fifth time in 2008. Start time is 11:00 UTC on the 14th of June, it ends 24 hours later (that's why it it's called 24skate).
To take part in the 24skate you can skate for one or more hours during these 24 hours whereever you are (so it's a truely local carbondioxide saving event too, because you don't need to travel).
Participation is free of charge. Donations to UNICEF (www.unicef.org) are welcome.
For each scoring 24skate-kilometer a donation of one Euro is already promised.
So each stroke of your skates will help the children around the planet.
Almost 600 skaters at 33 locations in 15 time zones took part in 2007's 24skate #4 . More than 1.300 Euro were collected for UNICEF.
