Heya all,
Ive ordered some new skates, Roces Streets, i got these because they were in a sale for £55 instead of £80, and they seem like a decent skate to start off with.
They should be here tomorrow, and i was just looking for some help of advice for someone starting to use aggressive skates.
I used to skate alot on recreationals a few years ago, but i think ill have forgotten everything i learnt!
Any help or advice is greatly appreciated! :D

I would suggest skating on them as much as possible. Learn how to turn, stop, skate backwards, and skate forwards very well. Then after you get all that down, start working on grinds, spins, and grabs. All in good time my friend

Just got my skates and been out for an hour
Wow! I remember how much fun skating was :D
I managed not to fall, go up / down steps, stop (without brake), and go quite fast (all in the rain lol)
Im quite amazed at how much i remember, like turning corners fast, i tend to cross my legs over, i nearly tripped doing it before lol
I need to get in shape, too! Im so out of shape its untrue, after an hour im totaly wrecked!

I'd never use brand new skates in the rain. kills my bearings.
I always ride my old rec skates if I feel the urge to go in the rain

yeah, when the rainwater dries, you get a bunch of dirt and stuff in there. slows you down really bad.
Can you say "WD-40?"

When I'm on my old skates, I like riding in the rain. Especially at the sk8 park. the smooth concrete will let you slip sideways for 20-25 feet. its awesome!
but you can't accelerate worth beans.

yo, heres some advice. i would try to find the nearest skate park. or buy a teneighty ramp. (a plastic thing) and just practice skating around, going off the ramp, getting about 3 feet off the ground without falling on ur face (hard if ur a new skater) then, get a cheapo rail. and try to grind it. thats how i learned. :( no one can teach me. cuz im the only one that I know that aggressive skates

I was so proud when I did my 1st method off a little tiny cheapo ramp. Of course, I was able to hold it for about a nanosecond before I had to land.
but yeah, practice jumping. dropping in is a good skill to have as well.
