I lied. Or at least I grossly overestimated the impact. I am seeing more unlit runners but at the time I leave work there just isn't enough light yet even with DST to bring out the swarms of oblivious walkers. I need to watch a little more carefully before beginning my decents but it is still possible to get a decent workout.
