Hi Kiwi. I strongly recommend a K2 rec skate. They come perfectly suited to bumpy roads, you wouldn't have to change wheels, or bearings, or anything. You could probably get a pair for under $100 bucks and they are sooo comfortable. They're cushiony and super supportive of your ankle.

Being that you come from artistic quad skating you know the importance of a good fit/support. A cheap hockey skate IMO lacks cushion and sometimes support.
