The Montreal event we are talking about here is a 24 hour inline skating relay race on a Formula One auto racing track on an island in Montreal, Canada. It typically takes place in July. Teams can have up to 10 people and only one of each team's skaters can be on the track at any particular time. Participants skate with a baton that is passed from skater to skater. A group of SkateLog friends put together a team for the first time in 2007 and even though many of them had never met in person, they ended up finishing 9th in their category and by all accounts had a fantastic time.

Teams can register in one of four categories: recreational, fitness, elite, or solo. The course circuit is 4.7 kilometers (2.92 miles). In 2007 elite teams finished 171-176 laps, fitness teams finished 118-157 laps, recreational teams finished 66-132 laps, and solo skaters finished 22-103 laps within the 24 hour time limit.
