July was the biggest mileage haul of the year so far, just barely nudging past March. I didn't make it to 500 miles though, so not as good as last July. Weather was good, as it always is in Northern California summer.

I got a small bump in mileage from two A2A training Sundays: One 52 miles and one 61 miles. I'm thinking I might sneak in a 70 miler on Labor Day Weekend but that I won't do anything longer than that aside from the race itself, which I guess I'm doing because of inertia.

The amusing stat was the usually neglectable scooter activity. The 8.6 mile round trip to see the fireworks was literally 4x longer than any previous trip. Much hillier too and my lunch time trips are almost completely flat. I seriously overdressed. Taking a push scooter any significant distance is a lot of work! I think they are about half as efficient as inline skates, if that. Some cyclists get mildly embarrassed when I call out "on your left" and pass them on my skates. How embarrassing must it be to be passed by a push scooter? I did that a couple of times.

Where did Joey go? He usually posts here days, even weeks before I manage.
