No ToeStop for me in verts/ramp/bowl (speed skaing too, but its with other skates). As you said they can catch some curves. More important is that my front trucks are pushed forward, so no place for them.

However, beginners are used to them for accelerating and might need them to go out from some deep bowls . If you are scared to remove your toestop, you can keep used ones (at max height is adjustements are possible). It will protect your plate too, and wood ramps...

But the best is to try not using them, pumping in curves to gain speed.
