Extremely late to the reply here, but in case anyone else is cruising through here for advice...

There have been a few times I've considered taking my toe stops off because when I'm learning a new trick, I always go back to using them as a safety habit and it becomes more of a mind game to NOT use them than to just do the damn trick!

However, there are lots of cool tricks you can do with your toe stops! I love doing toe stop stalls and I use them to pop up on the deck when I don't have enough speed, too.
