Andrea Gonzalez will retire at the end of these world championships.

We are now in the final days in the lead up to the world champs. Andrea Gonzalez is Argentina’s highest medal winning athlete in the history of the sport so her departure will be a big blow for the South American nation. More

The time zone is fantastic, only 1hr time diff from Sydney

No live video this year unfortunately. Korean TV will also not be doing any live feeds. They will do a 15 min wrap up each day (in Korean).

No budgets
No live feeds
No Israel in the worlds...

Where is our sport going to ?!
Founding my 1st year on ice was enough for me, so now I can't even dream about worlds.

Maybe next year

Is Bont testing a new 3PF or is someone else making a 3pt frame to work with 3pt 195mm boots? The picture of Stelly at practice has me wondering.

He wears a 2-point boot with an Ion Vanquish frame.

That looks like a 3pt 195mm Vaypor, but I could be wrong.

Pictures can be deceiving, but that definitely looks like a 3-pt boot and it doesn't look like a Bont 3PF frame mounted to it.

My guess is that the frame is a Liberty Vanquish, special made for Justin Stelly to fit on that particular boot. Could be wrong though.

It is also possible that someone else modified it to use the third mount point. The top and side profiles make it look like all the Vanquish needs is an extra mounting hole to fit the 3pt 195mm boot. See the following:

In addition, the side profile of the standard Vanquish is very close to the side profile of the 3PF. In addition, Bont could have made Stelly a custom 3pt Vaypor to match a mount on a Vanquish. All speculation unless or until Alex decides to confirm anything. It is an interesting set up regardless and not something I had seen prior to these pictures.

probably the middle point is not bolted on.
it might just happen to be a perfect fit.

The logical question is why have a 3pt 195mm boot? I am pretty sure Stelly has a 2pt boot. Also, I don't know if I see the point of having the middle point loose. There was some discussion in a 3PF specific thread about what benefit using the 3pt 195mm boot without mounting the middle point that addressed some of these concerns. I guess you could set it up without the middle mount, and it would provide some additional stiffness, but not as much as if it were attached. Interesting to see regardless.
