Cool The UK gets a proper skate weekender!

Linky link, already put my deposit down This is an hours drive from my place, which is handy

ok, it's not going to be Sk8-a-thon, but about as close to it as I'll get in this lifetime!

(any SL'ers fancying this should note that the floor is super-grippy, anything under ~100a wheels is a waste if you're over 160lbs)

Dang, that looks like it ought to be pretty jammin'
Looking at the other activities - a Derby Museum (!!?!) Wow, it must be really big in the UK! I don't even think that there's one of those in the States.

Default HK You are Going to Have A Blast

Hey HK47

Geez sounds like one of the normal special, special days over in the USA. I think we are going to have another Organ Skate in October in New Jersey. The thing about these skate_extravaganzas is that they pull skaters from 3 to 5 to more hours away.

That is great that you are advising on wheels for the floor versus Skater weight.

Now I see it is October, so make sure you know the floor for October not the spring or the summer. Most floors change a lot based on ambient temp and humidity. Right now I get little crud, yet soon things will change.

Anyway have a good time and POST Vids or Pics.

Yours in Skating, MA/NY Skating Dave

Not sure if this post is meant to be tongue-in-cheek or not? (the town is called Derby, hence the name of the museum - as far as I'm aware it's just a regular museum)

Busted!

Yeah, after following the link, I figured it was just a coincidence with respect to the name, but I have to admit, when I first glanced at the links page I was wondering "What...?"

Unfortunately a combination of a 6-month old daughter and a car that's decided to break down every 100 miles or so means I can't afford to do a whole weekend at the moment (more so my daughter - the wife works saturdays so I get her to myself for the whole day)...

I'm also dropping a considerable amount of cash on skate upgrades this year (phase 1 is almost go, got an email from Scott yesterday to let me know that my wheels are in the final stages of machining).

Don't get me wrong, I'll be spending the whole next day sleeping, but as you'll find when you get derby-fit 'feeling your age' can be a load of hokum

Would be good, feel free to spread the word, too (if you know anyone that likes moving to the groove, that is)
