Ask DocSk8 (Expert Indoor Skate Building Advice) This forum is different then the other SkateLog forums in that it is not a discussion forum, but rather a place you can ask skate building expert Fred "DocSk8" Benjamin about building and repairing indoor speed, derby, and jamskate quad roller skates. Default truck upgrade - ultimate dominators?

Hi doc,
do you know what trucks could be used to upgrade some ultimate dominators? are there any roll lines that would fit? ie navigators...

TIA
Greg

I have never tried Roll Line parts. I have used the Snyder Super Deluxe trucks.

Yes that started life as an Ultimate Dominator. If you can scrounge up the Chicago pivots you can use the stock pivot cups.

thanks heaps Doc!
another quick one, would you happen to know the rough weight on a set of size 5's with the snyder mods? I gather they will be pretty light.

Can't help with numbers for the weight but I can speculate on the impact of the parts change. . I suspect it will be heavier. The Snyder trucks are forged thus denser and heavier than the stock parts. Steel pivot pins add weight. If you use the UII size cushion like I did that is heavier as well..

I like the way this sk8s better than the stock Dominator and that means the weight was not an issue.
