I am really excited for this! Anyone who is within driving distance should seriously consider attending the clinic. I have a guest bedroom I will even put up for grabs as long as you don't mind occasional crying from my two year old.

Starting out with 35. If those get eaten up really fast we could potentially add more.

$120 for less than 7 hrs? OUCH.

I thought we wanted to grow the sport.. not scare people away..

For a small group class with a current Olympic speed skater? I don't think that's an outrageous price at all.

That's less than most people would spend to travel to a meet that's not near-by (remember, many meets are crazy early in the morning, like 5am, so it's generally difficult to drive more than an hour or 2 to a meet, so factor in hotel costs.) Plenty people pay more than that for a set of wheels.

It's all relative plus you have to factor in rink costs (I'm sure they're getting a cut.)

I guess so... I personally wouldnt pay that for my kids.. but that is me also..

When ive done clinics, its been a 2 day thing, and I have charged like 50 bucks.. looks like im going to have to go up! hahaha

Joey is a super technical skater, and you can learn a lot from his tequnique.

Trust me Jimmy, I'd love for it to be half the cost, but Joey has a minimum cost per skater, plus the fee for the facility, and that's where it's landing. If anything I'm still going to be paying out of my own pocket to make sure this thing still happens, but I think it will be worth it. Not looking to make a profit by any means.

And for anyone reading this who wants to go to the clinic but money is truly a limiting factor, please send me a PM and let's work something out!

That is barely over the cost of the Northshore Inline Marathon and you get to train with an inline world champion and olympic speed skater. On paper that does sound like a lot but it is worth it in my opinion. Above everything else, it is one of those rare experiences that stays with you for a lifetime.

For us plebeians that race the advanced and rec packs, NS is a little cheaper. Regardless, I entirely agree it is a once in a lifetime experience. I am looking forward to learning a lot, as I need the help.

ThePerambulator, let me know how I can help leading up to the clinic and on that day. I have posted about it on the Rochester groups, and will send a follow-up email to the training group so they know about the clinic.

I've heard that spots are starting to fill up fast. There are also some new Sponsors on board including Axcelerate Fitness, Ezeefit, Adam's Inline, and Twincam.

I've been to one of Joey's clinics. He does a great job. He will answer any questions and make sure you get it. Well worth the $.
I've also been to one of Jimmy's clinics. He also does a great job. If he charged $120 per skater, it would be worth it also.
If you ever have the oppertunity to go to a clinic hosted by an athlete that has the experience that these guys have...go! It is a very small investment for the knowledge they have to offer.
IMO, Joey is one of the best inline speed skaters of all time, plus an olympic ice skater, so $120 is a deal! A real good deal!
