Ask DocSk8 (Expert Indoor Skate Building Advice) This forum is different then the other SkateLog forums in that it is not a discussion forum, but rather a place you can ask skate building expert Fred "DocSk8" Benjamin about building and repairing indoor speed, derby, and jamskate quad roller skates. Default Braun bilt skates

Ok i bought a pair of braun bilt skates then i researched them after, I know stupid me.

Anyway it seems they are antique only made from 79-80 somthing. No clue who made the plates, but the price was right, and boot style was what got me to buy.
The rubber parts are shot would anyone know of replacement parts?

Thanks

I have heard of them but never had my hands on them. Pix and accurate dimensions will help. A lot sk8 parts are almost universal so the bushings / cushions and pivot cups (if so equipped) could be real easy to replace but I would need to know what the original sizes were.

Maybe some one else out there has already played this game and can help??

I have no way to post pics at the moment. Although seems they didn't use standard bushings and cup inserts everything on them was too small.

So the bubba in me took over got new trucks on order drilled out pivot pin cups to accept pacer cup inserts lets see how this rolls when i am finished.

There are instructions for posting pic in the main forum. But do let us know how it works out.

Default There back to life again

New trucks pivet cup inserts and wheels n bearings and different color toe stops. They skate better then i do. On these skates you will need to reuse the kingpin bolts n nuts and i had to drill pivet cup holes for larger size inserts. I'll post pics when i get a digi cam, right now i have no way to take pics. The boot quality and the way there made is very high quality, why i refurb them. Oh a reminder for the DIYer's, bring your tools to the rink. When you take them for a spin. I got lucky the one i went to let me barrow there's. Now i am very happy and pleased with this pair... YES NO MORE RENTALS for me now!! Oh by the way the riedel rw clash skates are total junk only good thing was the new wheels.
