Default 10K in St Augustine April 21st-22nd

Anyone from here going for the Publix Family Fitness 10K in St Augustine next weekend?

Also, if you have done it before, what is the course like?

I'm aiming to be at the 4min mile for this one so I can train accordingly...

I'll be there.

The course is straight and flat with a couple minor bridges. The road was just paved last year so it is smooth and fast.

The only issue would be we usually have a head wind.

that should be fun.... I like flat roads... steep inclines make me get a back ache... i'm training on form to avoid that

The website says roads will not be closed... will it be safe?

Thanks for the info.

This will be my first time at the St Augustine course, as well. Lenny confirms what I've heard from other skaters -- one way course, smooth as of last year, and mostly flat.

Great course - it felt like I was pulling a caravan of cars. I don't think they were too happy about that but I never felt like I was in danger.

Thank you all for the information. I feel confident enough to participate. Look out for a crazy indian guy LOL

Unfortunately I didn't get a lot of the race but the FFW people always get great pictures.

Nice pics and congratulations to all who participated!!

I pulled my lower back while replacing the lower control arms on my car the friday night before the race so chose to rest rather than push myself in further pain.

However... I do intend to be at the other FFW events later this summer.

Please don't. It's been re-hashed over and over on several different skate forums. Most hard core speed skaters won't use them. It you're really interested contact Mark at http://www.gatorbackskate.com/
