Default If You Are Asked to Stop Sending PMs - Stop!

If a forum visitor asks you to stop sending private messages (PMs) to them, you need to stop sending them. Some people in this forum are continuing to send private messages to others, even after they have been asked several times to stop, and after they have been told their PM's are not welcome.

If someone asks you to stop sending private messages to them... stop doing it. This is important if you want to keep PM enabled in the forum.

I know i would like to keep the pm's. Again Kathie i am sorry you are burdened with this childish behavior, you would think that we as adults could behave ourselves.
This is the second post pertaining to squabbling. Just get out and skate people.

I am so grateful to Kathie and all she does. I say the less BS she has to deal with, the better.

As these posters have stated. I think everyone agrees Kathie has done allot for all of us with this Forum. As the Administrator of this Forum it is also Kathie's job to help guide people thru problems as they arise. And she does a terrific job at that too.

Although the behavior has been very childish lately on more than one thread,,, when you or your friend is on the recieving end of unwanted PM's or e-mails it is not at all ... like childish behavior... it can become a very serious problem. I hope this subject will be finished now for Kathie's sake and for the sake of all of our PM privilages.

It was a great day in H-Town. started off cloudy, then cleard right up after coffee, and was nice all day. Worked on the Dragon Float for next weeks Parade. Man, is that going to be a Party. Sure wish you could all come. ---We have Our Joust once a year, just to clear the air from all the drama that comes up all year long. After that, every one is mellow and peaced out---till the next year, when we have to repeat it all again. Human Nature I guess. folks can feel free to PM me all day long---I got time on my hands. And I think Skater Folks are Cool.

Hi dudette!
Send a PM to Kathie and ask her... she's the best bet for the correct answer!
But, I do believe adding a person to your "Ignore" list will keep any PM's or e-mails from coming thru!?!?!?
It will, at least, keep their postings in the "collapsed" mode that you will not have to read them...
regina

Edit: Add ON...
you can also use your "user control panel" to turn off PM's "except" from those that are on your 'buddy list".... which I think is the safest way to set up the communications options.

In your user profile you can definitely turn off PM's. That's a good solution if you are OK with not being able to receive private messages from anybody.

You can also use your user profile to put specific users on "ignore". If you do that you will not be able to see any of their posts. I'm not sure if Ignore also blocks PMs sent by that person. Has anyone ever tested that?

Putting an annoying person on "ignore" could be useful in certain cases, but it can also be confusing. Some discussions won't make any sense because big chunks of them will be missing.

Wow, cool! Thanks NaNaDo. I didn't realize you could turn off PMs but still allow them from a list of buddies you designate. I'm sure some people will find that useful.

Eek! You were trying to ignore me? LOL!

EDIT: OK, I see your message now about testing. Maybe somebody else can help us test it?

Nanado I just put you on my ignore list. Try sending me a PM now. If I get your PM anyway, I will post back here.
