Finally....

Day 1 of 1.

15 miles on the inlines, 12 miles on the longboard. First skate on the inlines in 60 days! Injuries, darkness, work, rain, holidays, more rain, and a local festival ruined my favorite skating spots in City Park for 8 weeks. Even today I had to dodge trucks still repairing the mess caused by heavy equipment they ran over rain-soaked ground.

Good news - all of my bruised and sore ankle issues from the new skates are healed up and everything is resolved. Like skating on clouds from heaven! (Powerslide Hardcore EVO skates).

Also managed to get a sunburn on December 11th! Gotta love the Gulf South. 80F all day! Awesome day to be alive and on wheels.

I gotta find an indoor, lighted place to skate. No, not a crowded rink.

I've managed to find 2 indoor spots, and built one in my own backyard.
Today will be day 60, skate session #77.

My personal best is 62/79 and we have beautiful weather on tap for the next week!!!

26 miles in circles on the fitness track in City Park today. Kept a very chill pace.

Have to attend a noon wedding tomorrow. Will likely eliminate skating time. Dang-it.

Oh Yeah!

Today I broke 600 miles of skating (at least while using the GPS) on 2 pairs of inline skates and 2 longboards since July 7th, 2015. I skated more miles but sometimes do not run the GPS.

Sad, sad skating forecast for New Orleans over the Christmas Holiday week.

Always something.

New skate spot!

That's where I spent day #62 and consecutive session #80.

That session 80 broke my previous record of 79, and today will make consecutive day #63 which beats my previous record of 62.

Both records fall today!

Awesome! Congrats!

We have nothing like your indoor park in New Orleans. Just two regular skating rinks and one skate park under a bridge.

Skated all the way thru Christmas, and also today, bringing my tally to:
68 Straight days
93 Sessions in those days

Tomorrow and Monday will be tricky. We're expecting more ice, and a blizzard mebbe. Those indoor spots owe me tho. (I'm a donor, after all),

I'll will be collecting some favors.
This is not a game and I ain't playin.

Skated yesterday due to my buddy coming in from Cali. (he's an actual pro blader.) Got a pretty good hour in.

Still sore this morn, even went by the indoor new spot, but I took my electrician instead of my skates. Another rest day.

Taking off tomorrow thru the long weekend, and plan to catch up for all this rest accordingly.

Looks like the tail bone that I injured near the beginning of the month is finally healed. With the day off, I went out for a 20 mile skate on a route that includes a truly brutal climb at the far end. No pain. Not terribly fast, but no pain. Last week I could only skate reasonably pain free on the flats. So, it looks like I am good to go for the new year! Naturally, most of next week will be too wet to skate.

Good to hear about the tail. I know that injury ALL TOO WELL.

Skated 2h20m both the 1st and the 2nd at the lodge.
Caught this on video:
https://youtu.be/iThNAbrLN8E

Today, got about 42 minutes in at the outdoor spot, and then another hour at home.

Picked up: Frontside grinds on coping (much harder than a rail), Switch soul with 360 spin out, tru mizous (backward grind).

HUGE weekend!

2016 starting out badly.

Strained a hamstring New Years Day. Just feeling almost normal now. Having minor oral surgery (gum) Jan. 7th and doc said to lay off everything (bikes, skates, longboard) for a few days. So the entire first week or two of the new year is SHOT.

Aggavatin.

BUT...am considering taking a week off late January to JUST SKATE if I can find one mostly good weather week to be outdoors.

Man that sucks Joey! Godspeed on a quick return!

Another huge day for me, as I was give a key to the new indoor skatepark! I've been helping the owner out, and after getting his electrical work and permits cleared, he gave me a key and said, come any time! (I love off hour empty parks!!!)

Uploading a video of today's antics in there....
So far skated every day this year.....
