I'm having a new boot made, to confirm measurments for the shoe make I found the pitch of the EO is only 9mm compared to the standard 12mm of most of the metal frames on the market. This can put undue stress on the boot/frame if you do not use the shims. Another observation is that the rear deck height of the 12.8" is 64mm compared to the 13" M2s 60mm, -9mm for the front deck on both frames. I'm still an EO fan and do like the lower pitch, but wonder why they lowered the deck? It forces you to use the shims even if you have higher arches.
Just sharing. Thanks d

I have mounted both a 13.2" and a 12.8" 3x125 EO frame to my 165mm mount custom Simmons boot. I had to use the Simmons tool to push my arch up to clear the center wheel without using any shims when I used the 13.2" frame. The center wheel clearance with that frame once I pushed the arch up was 1.5mm.
I ended up trading that frame for the 12.8 that I now use for outdoor skating. And with the 12.8" frame, I now have well over 3mm of clearance. So it looks like different frames have different heights.

Not sure where you are getting your data, but most of the places I have found the deck height data for EO lists it as 48F/59R which is still taller than I need with my boots. My converted 5 wheel frame is 46/57 and the middle wheel still clears without shims.

[QUOTE=kufman;729108]Not sure where you are getting your data,
By tracingthe frames, straight edge, 5mm awl and micrometer. so i could be off .05mm. My point was pitch, they're 2-3mm different than most boots, the mounting surfaces are not level, Standard boot pitch to EO 3x frames. Could this cause problems for the frame or boot it they are not level and tightened down?

It doesn't sound like you are measuring from the center of the axles to the top of the deck. Your numbers sound really tall.

The pitch of an EO frame is 11mm.

After A2A, someone asked Eddie Matzger about why he had his frame mounted BACKWARDS! Sure enough, he had the 3x125 frame on backwards (on one skate only, I believe). This was apparently done because the middle wheel was touching the boot when the frame was mounted "correctly." I still don't get how this works with the negative pitch, yet he had just won the 87 mile roadskate, through the remnants of hurricane Nate nonetheless, with such a set-up.
