Ask DocSk8 (Expert Indoor Skate Building Advice) This forum is different then the other SkateLog forums in that it is not a discussion forum, but rather a place you can ask skate building expert Fred "DocSk8" Benjamin about building and repairing indoor speed, derby, and jamskate quad roller skates. Default Ranalli Rocket

Doc,

This past week I had a customer in my rinks pro shop that brought in his old skates with Ranalli Rocket plates. We all know the story, he stopped skating years ago, stored them in a closet, and just recently dug them out. Anyway, basically everything is dry rotted from this as usual. I was able to find suitable cushions for the king pins, however, I can not find what to use for pivot cups. My supplier said to use Nova pivot cups and I tried it, but they fit in a very less than desirable way. What would be your suggestion for this?

Thanks in advance,
Wayne

Default Delrin Cups

HAHAHA, for some reason I don't remember them being that expensive. Send me a PM and we will knock you out a set.

Hey Doc the kid has a few days this week open, looks like we are going to hit Frank hard SOON!

Wes PS: need to sell some cups to pay the kid, LOL....

I'll gladly help pay the kid. Need a full set of pivot cups for my Rockets.

Default NTS v/s TS model?

Hey Doc,

I know there are some difference between the two. Will the Delrin cups I have made in the past work in the TS model. I do not have a TS model to measure. Also do they both take the same trucks? Or are they different also?

I have run across many different height Rannalli cushions, possibly 3 or 4 different heights to be exact. This would change the depth of radius in the Delrin cup. With the original trucks not being adjustable, the stack height will need to possibly be altered.

Wes

I think so..

I do not have a TS model to measure.

I can fix that amigo.

Also do they both take the same trucks?

Not at all..

Or are they different also?

Very.

I'll see what I can dig up this weekend. I think I have enough parts to put at least 1 SA Rocket together.
