so...

i have made contact with the Oaks Quad Classic reps and the race is still on.
even though the date has been pushed (again), this race WILL be happening.

the new date for the race will be either Feb or Mar of 2013.

there will be an official announcement at some in the near future on the details.

Default Sessions

My 'old-ish' body hasn't done any laps in a few decades. Also, there is no place to join or practice (see all the other threads on that) So clearly I am not on a speed team and wouldn't be able to participate.

Is there going to be any sessions to go along with this event if is ever happens? Might be a good opportunity to meet other loggers in the West Side. Seems as if every cool gathering happens in Aus or in North East US/South East US.

Place to practice a little, San Ramon on Wednesday nights if you get there when they open..you have about 20 minutes of fairly clear floor.

Also if you ask deb, the speed coach at San Jose skate, has let quads practice with us.

And there is a quad speed skater who attends the @3oclock session in San Ramon.

Thanks Katy (I was just getting ready to go into the Facebook that I am not too fond of and ping you) Sometime ago when spoke with you last I did an outreach after on San Jose (a bit far but..) and was told In-Line only (I think Readbeard was told the same thing (he talked with me about it but I can't remember for sure) I was able to do one or two songs of speed at San Ramon in June _ So fun, and asked them about quad speed but it was a bit deer in headlights. I will say there was a lady there one other night that was quite friendly and the day I went there was a guy from my generation and he was all about the fanjets, etc that we grew up in so that was cool.

Lets talk and see if something can be found. Thanks again.

Default Yeah, laces UP early...

San Ramon is a good bet.
Working on Antioch...they have a smallish NEW wood floor. Derby-centric.
I have a little deal going at Rohnert Park w a clear floor. ssssssh!
SJ? Do tell...they would NEVER even return my emails/phone calls. NOT very classy IMHO.
Previously at Rohnert I had discussions with a bunch of the periphery people, and got shot down. It was REALLY FRUSTRATING.
Finally, talked DIRECTLY with Jeanie the owner, and SURPRISE...she LOVES us. SO, if I can get some people SERIOUS about speed...we have a REALLY ODD time frame we can work with, and I have a coach.
SO...thusfar, it's working GREAT for us...but, if anyone wants onboard it's a COMMITMENT. $/Time, or we will continue to keep it under wraps.
This Oregon deal?
Twice bitten, Thrice shy....
Speed in the 21st century is a PAIN.
