Ask DocSk8 (Expert Indoor Skate Building Advice) This forum is different then the other SkateLog forums in that it is not a discussion forum, but rather a place you can ask skate building expert Fred "DocSk8" Benjamin about building and repairing indoor speed, derby, and jamskate quad roller skates. Please start a new thread for each new question.

Default Roll Line Variant M question

Do the variant m and navigator all mount the same. Say if I have a boot drilled for a variant would I be able to upgrade at a later date to the navigator and use the same holes or are they different? thanks

Actually, they are not the same. The front and back holes are but the middle ones are not. The Variant has 6 round holes. The Navigator has 4 round and 2 oval. I use the outside edge of the oval.... Unfortunately , the Variant lines up on the inside.

That being said, it's no big deal either way. I have upgrade several pair in the last 3 years but I usually wind up replacing boots. The derby ladies are tough on 'em!!
