Ask DocSk8 (Expert Indoor Skate Building Advice) This forum is different then the other SkateLog forums in that it is not a discussion forum, but rather a place you can ask skate building expert Fred "DocSk8" Benjamin about building and repairing indoor speed, derby, and jamskate quad roller skates. Smile Wheels for re-vamping rink skates

Hi, After locating my 1967 Riedell artistic skates ,210's I think,I decided to get back into roller skating... rink sessions...nothing fancy..I'm 53 and weigh about 150 lbs. & dont want to break any body parts...Anyway I sent the boots to Riedell for some fixing..they did a great job..Unfortunately, I still have the original wheels on the skates & I would love to purchase a new set with just a little grip..I have knee problems so I dont want to stick like glue to the floor, but what I have now are probably dance wheels (century sure grips)...Many thanks,Vicki

Default Wheels for re-vamping rink skates

Hi, After locating my 1967 Riedell artistic skates ,210's I think,I decided to get back into roller skating... rink sessions...nothing fancy..

Welcome back.

I'm 53 and weigh about 150 lbs. & dont want to break any body parts...Anyway I sent the boots to Riedell for some fixing..they did a great job..Unfortunately, I still have the original wheels on the skates & I would love to purchase a new set with just a little grip..I have knee problems so I dont want to stick like glue to the floor, but what I have now are probably dance wheels (century sure grips)...

I am not a fan of tiny wheels but the locals here seem to really like the Roller Bones. They are inexpensive as such things go and I understand they have a good balance of grip and roll...ON OUR FLOOR. Going up in cost and closer to the speed wheel world Radar's blue Zodiac and if you are brave, Matters green Omega.
