Default Tampa Classic Half Marathon - Easter Sunday

Hey everyone! I just wanted to let you know that this year at the Tampa Classic (April 20th), we're holding a half marathon for the first time.

The course will be 400 meters (52 laps) on the PAD, which is the course we've been getting some amazing training on the past few months. The pavement is beautiful- super smooth.

After the half, stick around and either watch or participate in the short races that the Tampa Classic usually holds, or check out the vendor booths.

If this year is successful, we'll look into extending the course to make it a couple of miles. If you're local, please come out and support this race. Or come visit sunny Florida if you're tired of the cold

Will quad skaters be allowed in the race if they can maintain a decent speed - like finishing in a 60min or better time?

Absolutely. We have the track from 7-9 am and any type of skates are allowed (well, except maybe rollerskis since we have limited space )

Pardon my lack of knowledge of this marathon and race, I've been out for a couple years.

I really want to participate in this but must question,
Will we have to be in a pace with a group or will there be solo skating? Im nowhere near being as good as many on here but can keep a decent speed. Im guess Im just asking the details on this. I'm located in Miami and have been looking for a race! Thank you.

Hi Humpchops-

You can skate however you feel comfortable at the event, alone or in a pack. If you are skating by yourself you would just have to make sure you move over in case the pack comes by. I hope that answers your question- let me know if you have any more.
