I am leaning to yes, but still undecided.

I know that I need to defend my title from last year. (Fastest person from Central Illinois named Dave Morgan.) I am going to contact the race organizers to see what they say.

Yes.
This course is a lot of fun. I've said it before but in case you couldn't decipher my message for all my bad spelling, i'll say it again- if you want a real world class skate experience, go to this marathon. This is what skating is all about. How many times have you pulled back a notch in an event becuase the blind corner at the bottom of a hill looked a bit too risky, etc. ? Well there is nothing of the sort here. If you like to race, or just get out and share wide open carless roads with other skaters of like ability, this is the one for you in the USA.

Just in terms of the course, it is 26 of the nicest miles you'll spend on skates.

Well said, Online. My favorite part is the downhill through the tunnels on I35.

Default Northshore

My wife and I will both be there. Has anyone been weatching the weather?
Looks like it might be a rainy NSIM . Wind will be a factor, predicted to be from the east, but along the base of the hill it could blow from just about any direction. It has been in the 30's for the past few mornings but it is supposed to be a bit warmer on race day. Good luck all.....

if Unalaska is right, my favorite part will be the tunnel, too, ssp_skater.

Keeping my fingers crossed. See you there, hopefully with dry pavement. Predicting 30% chance of showers saturday.

Lots of luck everyone! Now Online, don't forget the mudflaps for those big 110's. Remember your rain etiquette.

If it's wet and 30-40 degrees at the start, it could make for a really cold day regardless of where you're from. We're still in warm weather here, so 40 will be really cold for us, can't imagine what that will feel like to the Floridians.

edit: If anyone is interested, we could meet at the adams inline booth at 5pm just to say hello and put a name with the face. I've already suggested this on RRN so there may be some overlap, but you could also meet some of those folks.

And I was trying to prep myself for the 50's. I don't know if I can handle 30's

I'm not sure if we'll be there in the time for the 5pm meet - we're looking at closer to 6. I'll keep a lookout for ya anyway

Default weather

Well if rain wouldn't be bad enough the wind is now predicted to be from the SSE at 16 mph, that could slow things down a bit. Temps however are looking a bit better. As great as the weather was in St. Paul this could be the exact opposite.

the prob with 110s is there are so few wheels to choose from, and if it's wet on the course, i don't have a good back-up rain wheel.

Adams booth- sounds good if i can get there but i'm trying on new boots at the simmons booth as soon as i get there, whcih will probably be about 5 or 6 pm. And i have to return some frames for someone, etc. etc.

Have fun, skate safe, would like very much for weather to give us a break this time around. CUrrent forecast as of late Thurs evening is for 44 to 47 degrees at 7 AM race start on Sat., with 20 to 30 percent cahnce of showers and winds out of the SSE at 10 to 16 MPH (depending which weather site you believe.

I'm not letting myself get down by the forecast because the weather channel has been wrong for most of the summer, at least here anyway. Have they ever cancelled due to rain?

Let's just keep an eye out for each everybody, nobody seems to want to pin them selves down from RRN and from here, I think we all either know each other or know what everyone looks like so just say hey. Everybody please give each other the benefit of the doubt when walking around, it's easy to miss someone or not recognize each other.

I might be at the expo for a while, cuz I'm having issues with my boot. I may see if someone can help me get this damn bolt off. Say hi if you recognize me - not sure how many other 6' tall women skaters there are. See you all tomorrow!
