Default 2014 Napa Valley Inline Marathon - IT'S ON!!!

I'm here with Rose looking out the window thinking, am I going to do this race again? It never makes a dime and is a hell of a lot of work. Well the answer is yes, we're at it again. On Sunday, July 13 we will once again close off the Silverado Trail in the Napa Wine Country to car traffic and skate through some of the most beautiful landscape in the world in the 2014 Napa Valley Inline Marathon. It's a 26.2 mile marathon and a 13.1 mile half marathon - a one-of-a-kind event that has a 21 year history.

I am going to make this event a torch for all skaters committed to keeping our sport alive. I need your help and support. Come be a part of it!!! Get more info at http://www.cora.org/2014NapaIM.htm

My wife and I will be there this year. My wife is registered for the half, and I am registered for the full. I know a few other Portland skaters (both indoor and outdoor) who are also planning to go.

Huge thanks to the Godfather of Skating for organizing this great race for 20+ years! Definitely the greatest outdoor event on the west coast!

Any other skate-log-forum members doing Napa this year?

Looking forward to it! And, bonus.... SkateNow's got a sweet stash of goodies for each race participant of this years event. Help us support the only west coat inline marathon on July 13th.

Pre-event activities include San Fransisco's famed Fri night skate & Saturday Napa valley wine tour! Get registered, pack your skates, and join us for a roll in wine country!

Default Napa 2014 results & review

Wow, what a nice surprise to see Eddy make an appearance at Napa, and of course he took first overall. He is in training for NY, and most likely A2A.

Was a great day, a bit of fog lingered in the am, which actually helped keep the heat away. very slight wind, great road, skating friends, and post-event bbq as usual. Lots of give-a-ways at the bb and awards event. Hats off to Dave & Rose for keeping this event going in style! If you missed it, get this one on your 'must do race list' for next year!!

We did the Friday night skate in SF as well, such a fun roll thru the city.

Event results can be found here. http://www.cora.org/2014NapaRaceResults.htm

We posted some event pics here: NAPA skatenow fb
