Default Fast skate song

While not my favorite song, this was good skating song

Come on feel the noise-Quiet Riot

Makes my old bumps and bruises hurt thinking about it.

I will totally be showing my age here with the first pick, but I like

Play that Funky Music by Wild Cherry
Jet City Woman by Queensryche
Thunderstruck AC/DC
Bring me Back to Life by Evancescence

Cooincidentally I am working on my 25 in 5 for derby and Play that Funky Music is exactly a five minute song when downloaded from iTunes. Great for practicing at session.

Wow, what a variety of songs used for skating.

During speed skates back in the day, they would play Metallica - Enter Sandman.

That and Fuel get me moving faster (though it still may be slow in comparison to others )

But a lot of these songs posted are great too!

I am surprised it is all metal or rock music.

I Ran-A Flock Of Seagulls
Turn Me Loose-Loverboy
Rush Hour-Driven n Cryin
Kickstart My Heart-Crew

The Magician Bassin It Up-DJ Magic Mike
Get Retarded-KJ and the Fellas
Body Mechanic-Quadrant Six
Anything by Egyptian Lover

There is probably a lot more but I don't remember them.

Crap they play today is terrible....

I can only remember a couple of songs our rink use to use for speed skates.

Saga- On The Loose
ACDC- Shoot to Thrill

(Curious how many people will google Saga!)

Back in the day our speed coach would start our practices with a warm-up/pace session to Erik B and Rakim's Paid In Full (the 7 minute Cold Cut Remix). It wasn't a fast song, but man it got the whole team psyched for practice.

For general session speed skate songs, seems like I remember Kenny Loggins' Danger Zone, Sammy Hagar's I Can't Drive 55, and GNR's Welcome to the Jungle.

They quite often play "Black Betty" for the speed skate at our rink. They also play a late eighties, possibly early 90s "club" song that I cant think of right now, but that damn song gets stuck in my head for days.
Oh, and usually on the quiet Wednesday morning session they play that song by Plastic Bertrand..you know the one..it's in French I think, or possibly German? LOL. They play that for the speed skate.
