Ask DocSk8 (Expert Indoor Skate Building Advice) This forum is different then the other SkateLog forums in that it is not a discussion forum, but rather a place you can ask skate building expert Fred "DocSk8" Benjamin about building and repairing indoor speed, derby, and jamskate quad roller skates. Default Cushions for antique plates . . . .

Doc,
I own an old school set of Sure Grip Stylist Plates. SA45 early 70s vintage. I'm looking for some replacement cushions. I have been advised by someone at Sure Grip that the original cushions are not still available. Are these the same cushion as modern Sure Grip SA-45 or are they different ?( no bush in the pivot ) Would you be able to direct me to someone that may still have stock - or the appropriate dimensions so I may have them custom made? ( Aussie Scott ) TIA. PS - I'm already a friend of HebeGB

Note: The iron on iron pivot Sure Grips are not real common around here. I have a Century marked plate with similar if not the same. So, show us some pix and I may be able to help you right out.

Doc,

Photos as requested:

I might have to strip these down & give them a good polish ( they haven't seen much love for some time ) I've enjoyed skating them again over the last few weeks.
