Nick will be at the USFIFS booth at the PSA ice conference mentioned in a previous post and doing demos. We will have seven pairs of PIC skates donated by PIC to try and a pair of Custom Inlines and protective gear. Several other inline vendors have been invited to participate. We will be receiving a donation from PIC skates towards the booth. Anyone wanting to donate or help out can send me an email. I will have a number of free admission badges for volunteers. It is on Friday May 23, 2008 in Bensenville, IL. USFIFS will be sharing the booth. It is tentatively booth 19 and is listed under Flying Camel Productions, Inc. Joe Kaplenk President USFIFS

yes they are similar BUT..
you are not supposed to spin on your toe stop in inline..... naughty naughty . ![]() ( although lots get away with it even at international level.. ![]() Having come from Ice to Inline ( ice - Senior test level skater), can say it takes a while to learn to skate with the correct Roller technique expected in higher level competition. Dance would be vurtually an instant change over but freeskating is a lot different. Jump landings and Take offs are different to ice and as i mentioned the spinning is a lot harder on inline than ice. Lastly tho.. having made the change from ice to the inline.. much happier with Inline ![]() |

One of the things that I found with the PIC skates is that I tend to go on the toe stops more than my quads or ice blades. Unfortunately the toe stop is not adjustable with the PICs. I have cut down the toe stop and rotated a worn toe stop with a flat edge to get the proper height I want.
I've done freestyle on quads, ice and inlines and find the inline technique for me is closer to ice than quads. My spins are actually about equal on ice and inlines and a struggle on quads. But I've been doing ice and inlines at the same time for a while. Inlines have a lot going for them. Joe Quote:

Here are some more ice figure skaters that also do the inline figure skating.

The new P-9 power pic (stopper) (patent pending) has just been introduced after extensive testing. It will be on our web site in about a week. The P-9 provides enhanced spins jumps and footwork. The pic is also solid rubber and allows for quick stops and elminates sliding when setting up for toe jumps. The P-9 will sell for $5.50

Quads, inlines and ice!!! Just shows how much the sports have in common.
I wish I knew what the commentators were saying, but the actions were pretty obvious. Joe Quote:
