USA Rollersports has seen fit to Webcast for FREE the entire 2007 Artistic Figure Skating Championships live from Omaha, Nebraska between now until Aug 5, 2007 at the Omaha Civic Center, with skaters of all levels from beginner to World Class Senior competitions. It is exciting to tell you that this entire National Championships will be web cast FREE to everyone with high speed Internet access.

There are two ways you will be able to view the Championships, but both will require you use a Windows Media Compatible Streaming Viewer. (One being Microsoft Windows Media Player available here.)

1. Visit the USA Rollersports National Web Site at http://www.usarollersports.org/vnews/display.v/ART/2007/07/22/46a26e6b1b5ab and a viewer will pop up within that webpage. Click the PLAY icon and you can view it from that page.

2. Use Windows Media Player or other Windows Media Player compatible player like VideoLan (www.videolan.org) and watch the streaming video by typing in the URL for the stream: http://cobra.mediacast1.com/usarsv

I have got the entire schedule of all of the Art Events up on my weblog at www.hellomarylu.com

Events will begin daily approx. 6:00-7:00 AM Central Time (-6:00 GMT) and run throughout the day and night, with breaks for dinner and awards, normally ending approx 11PM Central Time. Please check the schedule at www.hellomarylu.com for more details.

Also PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE write an email to USA Rollersports and express your thanks to them for webcasting this major event for everyone to enjoy!

I heard the Art Nationals will also be webcast. It could be at the same link, but I'm not sure. It will be nice to see some of my friends skate... and to watch the WC skaters!

If anyone figures what the link for the Art webcast is, please post it here.

Also, it would be nice to figure out how to play it on my cell phone

Bill

should be the same link as the same people are going to be doing it bill,,,,just put the usarollersports.org on your phone for it if you have internet on it.

My phone doesn't support the script that they have running on the page. it's a motoQ running win mobile5. Maybe I should get an iPhone

I hope they have hooked up to a fast server. I think Art will use a lot more bandwidth then speed.

I just got word about the figures event for Nationals. That is great, this may draw even more interest in this type of skating.
Pity about the screen size thing though...had hoped to have larger but the rep saidue to internet bandwidth restrictions, the picture on the web is the largest available.

Hey better than nothing! My daughter is already smiling for the speed skating event just broadcasted.
Thank you Bill for the topic post!

Hi Donna,
I remember going to one of the Adult nights you were promoting at the Gilroy rink. I miss that rink. Are you skating these days?

Default Hi Bill

I skate once a week in Tahoe on Tuesday's, it's retro night at the outdoor rink (concrete)at NorthStar, with a DJ. Love love loveit.

In the winters I have to drive down the mountain to reno.

I have a pic from this tuesday but I can't figure out how to put it in here. If you can assist I will share it :-).

All Skate

I think there are sites where you can hot link your image, or...
I'd be happy to host a few images for you. Just attach them to an e-mail.

I'm curious about the rink at Tahoe.
I've done some Mt Biking at North Star and that area... very nice!
The rink sounds like fun!

While I was growing up, part of my artistic skating career occurred in Reno, Nevada, both at King's Skate Country and Roller King (now out of business). I then commuted to Roseville for a while.

I remember the rink in Carson City near the prison with poles down the center!! YIKES! There was another one built about 10 (?) years ago, but it went under.

Any more art skating in Reno? I didn't think so........

Default No skating in Carson City, but....

Max Baer (yes that one), is building a Hillbilly Casino and I wishwishwish he would put a big roller rink in there. Giant wood floor, old fashioned would be great !!
He also owns the old Wal-Mart, which was where he originally wanted to do the Casino, but it didn't work out. Now that would be BIG enough for a rink too.

Oh if I had only hit the MEGABUCKS, then I would do it. I still can't believe that machine gave me 4 megabucks on the centerline with a WATERMELON ! 10 MILLION dollars....poof.

Sure wish we had more choices up here.

I had a coach for a short time in Nevada named Max, but can't remember his last name. He was a bigger man, dark hair. I also took from Pete Nielsen (boy, am I dating myself, as this was over 20 years ago!).

Why did the rink fold in Carson City? Any art skating at King's Skate Country in Reno?
