Psst, Bill in Houston, Just let this be our little secret. I don't want to upset PastSkater. San Francisco Bay isn't really "landlocked." It's just that you can't ever see the Pacific from the Bay (or the Golden Gate Bridge) because of the FOG!

I think he was referring to the fact that it is surrounded by land with only 1 small opening...but the fog part is soo true!

Default You know you're from Pittsburgh when.....

It's POP, not soda

You grew up with Mr. Roger's Neighborhood

You know what Chipped Ham is

You know there's actually 4 rivers at the Point, not 3

You know there's a plane that crashed in the Monongehela River that nobody has found

You go to Kennywood at least a dozen times each summer

The phrase "Kennywood's open" has nothing to do with the amusement park

It's pronounced "sammitch", not "sandwich"

You know the best sammitch has cole slaw and fries on it (God I love Primanti's )

You know where Dahntahn, Da Strip, Sa Side, and 'lizibith are

You understand what I just said

You know a steak salad is supposed to have fries on it

You say yinz or yunz (everyone knows yinz, but older Pittsburghers usually say it yunz)

You know what Dust Bunnies, Bumbershoots, and Allegheny Whitefish are (www.pittsburghese.com)

You know what Arn is (Pittsburghers perfer to drink theirs rather than pump it)

You know what the red and blue lights on top of the Gulf Tower mean

You've been on the Duck Boat

You didn't know Pittsburgh actually had a pro soccer team (Riverhounds)

You know where the "Bowler's Statue" is

Traffic slows to a crawl as soon as one snowflake falls, even though the people have lived here all their lives

You refer to those people as Jagoffs

You know Micheal Keaton (Pittsburgher) actually invented the word jagoff on David Letterman

You've worn thermals or a snow suit under you Halloween costume to go Trick or Treating

You know there's only 3 seasons, Pre-Season, Football Season, and Post-Season

It's pronounced Stillers, not Steelers

You know all da yuppies live in Fox Chapel

You can't go anywhere without going through at least one construction zone

No less than 3 generations of your family work at or are retired from the steel mill

You know the steel pillars on the outside of the US Steel Building are supposed to be rusty

You live in the suburbs on one side of Pittsburgh and VERY rarely if ever go to "da udder side a tahn"

You watch the movie "Striking Distance" and during the car chase at the beginning, you say "You can't come off Polish Hill, end up on Forbes, an en go tru the Armstrong Tunnels like aht."

You know where Polish Hill, Forbes, and the Armstong Tunnels are

You know who Mook is

You've rode the Incline

You've shipped an uncooked Vincent's or Mineo's pizza across the country to ex-Pittsburghers (And yes, it happens alot. I used to work with a guy that sent a Vincent's pizza to some friends of his at a bachelor party in Vegas. And the clerk and the Post Office said "Oh we ship these all the time".)

You refer to Cleveland as the Mistake on the Lake

You know while everyone tries to copy the Terrible Towel, nobody can ever come close to the original

You've ever watched a Steelers game on TV with the sound on mute and the radio tuned to WDVE so you could listen to Billy Hillgrove and Myron Cope call the game instead of those idiots on TV (Super Bowl XLIII just wasn't the same witoucha Myron )

You know the phrases "YOI", "DOUBLE YOI", "OKEL DOKEL", and "MMMMM HAAAA"

And finally, you know your from Pittsburgh if you football team is the ONLY SIX TIME SUPER BOWL CHAMPIONS
