Default Skating Joke, funny or stupid ?

Heres something I came up with :

"ROLLERSKATES ARE ALWAYS REFERRED TO IN THE PLURAL, UNLESS YOURE PLANNING ON RUNNING WITH THE OTHER FOOT"

"I LOVE SKATING TO DEATH !!! IF I GET A BIG ENOUGH GRAVE I'LL START SKATING THERE TOO... PROBABLY VERTICAL STYLE."

Someones probably already come up with these, but still, let me know what you think.

Why are scissors and pants always plural? With one scissor I guess you could open an envelope, but I have no idea what one would do with a single pant.

When I was a kid, I thought it would be cool to wear one "pant"...and on the other leg, one "short"!!!

I never tried this, and hence did not get expelled.

sk8scott,

See if you ever had a broken leg and a cast, you would have done that every day for 8 weeks. And might I say "THAT'S NO PICNIC!" :-)

Even when we use our related word "shear" we call a pair of scissors a pair of shears, not a shear...

Default Spanish has no problem with both.

In spanish you can use the plural as the singular and it is well said

Tijeras o tijera

Pantalon o pantalones.

It may not be a picnic, but you got to wear a PANT every day! That's really, really cool. Okay...maybe not.
