Wood whells for track races aren't very adecuate.

I'll question the J.A. Martinez de Goņi, the guy who found the video, and did this race.

Also, that's the place where I live.

Could be aluminium too, but I bet on wood.

What do you mean "40k on quads looks painful" ?
With wood wheels ?
Cause I did more than 300km in LeMans 24 last year as a solo on quads, it was quite comfortable, actually.

Yes, very beautiful place ;-) I will go there in September, just to make sure it's as beautiful as always, and to skate again the P2P (my second time), on Quads again, to improve my last year time.
