Count me in! This is going to be great. $30 for a marathon? That is a great deal. And you are throwing in a shirt? No way! Is the course going clockwise or counter-clockwise?

Thanks, Major. You are the best.

From what I've been told the course goes counter clockwise. There's only 3 turns though. There's also going to be a half mile mass sprint and a 5 mile single gear bike race. Should be lot's of fun. Oh, and a kids sprint too.

Default Schedule of events?

Sounds like a great event. Has the schedule of events been posted?

Is this a race that would require one to pick up numbers etc the day before? It matters to me as I would be flying in from out of town?

Thanks for organizing this event!

I don't have all the exact details but you would probably get everything race day.

Is there a link to this marathon anywhere? Is there room for noncompetitives? My chick and I would like to join in if there is a casual element, but i know she'd be on the slower side.

re-verse, there will be a casual element. It will be for skaters of all abilities. There will be a full marathon or 10 mile option. The website will be up very soon. There will be online registration and it will be chip timed.

Nancy,

The course follows the loop created by Erhart Rd, Gilmer Rd, and Fremont Ctr Rd. You can't make it back to town for a few days?

Thanks Major, distance isn't a real worry for me, we did 30 miles last weekend without any real issue (she spends 4 hours a day on the treadmill and elliptical), but her speed isn't really fast yet.

I look forward to seeing the site.

The website should be up by Monday or Tuesday. I'll let you know. The course is pretty flat and smooth pavement. It's shaping up to be a great event.

Had I know about it earlier, I may have joined you guys to either volunteer or do the 5 mile single speed bike race.

We'll be on vacation -- yes a vacation! But, and there is always a but, Mark will be doing a 1/2 ironman and i'll be doing a sprint tri that weekend.

I emailed Carol about this and she seemed interested in volunteering(?) Email her and ask.

I've been gone too long... The road must have been redone after I moved.

This should be fun -- sorry I will be missing it but will plan for it next year.

Hey gang,

I got the chance to skate the course yesterday. It's really senic and in great shape. There turns and few inclines (no hills). It should be fast and fun. Registration is open. Race day is coming up. This race will be great for skaters of all levels and abilities. We have great sponsors so there will be something for everyone. Get registered now. I know a lot of you like to wait until the last minute to see if it's going to rain or H*** will freeze over, but remember that we have spend money for the race whether it rains or not. We stand to loose a lot more than the $40 bucks it will cost you. Get signed up now! This event will continue to grow and get bigger and better but we need your support.
