Default Status of Recovering the Old Forum Data

It looks like we will not be able to recover our old forum by restoring a backup, however I will be getting a zipped file with all of the SQL data from that forum (users, threads, and posts). I am going to try to hire someone to help me import that data into some kind of readable format. If the programmer I hire can do it, I am thinking about purchasing another copy of vBulletin and installing the data into a second VB forum on this Web site. People would not be able to post in that forum, or register for a user name (because we will be using this new forum) but at least we would be able to refer to and link to our old messages. I will keep everybody posted.

I'm not even sure you _want_ everything back... maybe you could just pull off some 'reference' threads (and I think there were some that really exhausted a topic, and provided value) and post them in a specific section instead of bringing back an etire forum?

I continue to be amazed at the time and attention you give towards making this forum such a pleasant/helpful experience for everyone! Wish I had the smarts to help out with importing the old data. But I am sending much good Karma!
