Hi Kathie, how are you? I just read your msg about the new forum admin, more so about your father, and I'm very sorry about your loss..

I lost my father only 2 weeks ago and he too had been diagnosed with cancer, bowel cancer.. worse still, we only found out eight weeks ago.. it was a rapid decline ..

I hope you get to share as much time as possible with him and let him know how much you love him..

Take care

My condolences, Kathie. You sure have had a rough patch of luck lately with your parents. May your dad's passage be gentle, and may your remaining time with him be special (even in the way that ordinary life tends to be when we're not paying attention).

Seems like Jessica is a great pick for being our "co-host" - she keeps herself out of trouble when things get heated on here, and apparently she kind of likes to skate. She might be too tall for a webmistress, though - gonna have to check the rulebook on that one.

May God bless you and yours Kathie. Condolences from me and my two children.

Great choice on Jessica too! I've always found her to be agreeable and I'm sure she'll be fair.

Thanks again for this awesome place to hang out!

Kathie, I know I am new here, but wanted to say how sorry I am to hear about your parents... I am there too, I lost my dad at an early age (17) and things haven't been the same since, my mom lives thousands of miles away from me, and I try to at least see her once a year if I can... it's been 20 years, and she still doesn't date, and has basically given up... I hope you hang in there, and it will get better... I pray every day it will... you are in my thoughts... take care ok...

oh, and on a lighter note... congrats Jessica!!!

Kathie, I'm so sorry for your personal issues, and hope for the best for you and your family.

Welcome Jessica!

I've been involved in forum management since CompuServe ... it's a tough line to walk, to keep things constructive, fun, and open. I'm sure Jessica will do well, and Congrats to you both!

Kathie, It gets easier, but not necessarily better. I lost my Mom about a year after my Dad. I was so distraught when it happened that I left Jessica and her brother here with friends both times...

Looking back, I would have taken them, but I just wasn't thinking clearly. That is why I try to get them to think about it when it is my turn and hope that I can do a better job getting ready for it but I am still not there yet.

You are right about yours and Jessica's philosophy about the forum, or at least what I heard about it. I know she just really wants to do it for you guys.

Besides, at least it will keep her out of trouble....
