EO? Home Depot/Lowe's? They should be a simple M6 thread.

That said, I use the Simmons mounting bolts that came with my boots to mount EO frames to them. As long as the head is fairly wide to distribute the force on the bolt, you should be ok. Also, a recommendation from David is that if you can get more than one bolt in any one section due to the frame placement and its relative location to the slot in the frame, do it. It spread out the stress better.

Default Be sure

Be sure that what ever you buy it is hardened steel. The cheap China crap will fail! The hardened steel is usually blanck and has SAE codes on top.

I have LOTS of Simmons screws! They are actually very good but EO screws are the best because of their large diameter head, not to mention the good quality steel.

Almost everyone carries the EO screws in 13 or 16 but not in 10 mm. EO knows that Simmons mounting blocks take only 10 mm screws.

You can cut the longer bolts down. Get an M6 nut and thread it onto the bolt. Either cut the bolt with a saw or cut with pliers. File the end of the bolt to remove sharp edges. Then carefully unthread the nut, moving it back and forth to re-establish the threads at the end of the bolt.

I have already done that a few times with EO screws. The ones I have on right now I cut them in the past. I currently have 8 EO bolts that are 13 mm but I'd like to just be able to buy 10 mm straight from the fabric! Every so often I like to get new screws and so now I'm searching for 10 mm screws and avoid the hustle and having to cut off 3 mm from a screw. The 13 mm definitely does not fit the Simmons mounting blocks! For now I am going to use Simmons screws which are very good too... just really enjoy that EO larger diameter screw head.
