Default Santa Ana Skate

I skated in 85F (maybe hotter) Santa Ana wind yesterday for about 30 minutes. How Dumb can an old guy be? It was awful.
Got way over heated. I am used to skating in the 65 to 75F weather we have had for months.
This was a test and I failed it. I was really surprised that it bonked my so bad.
Took me about 15 minute to cool down and recover.
Be careful out there. I for one am not bulletproof anymore.

Kinda hard to resist going out on a beautiful autumn day, heat or no heat. But I have the same problem on hot days. Started after I reached 60. I overheat like an old car. Have to stop, wait for the engine to cool down, and refill with water. Ha. Getting old is a bitch. Spose to be more Santa Anas tomorrow, so this old fart is going to have himself a sweaty Sunday ride. Yeeha!

I'm in Claremont. There are a few skaters in town. Some skate on main streets or on our bike path, so I think they are doing fitness training. We have a roller hockey rink that draws a few casual skaters and hockey heads. Unfortunately the rink becomes an underage beer garden at night, so you have to bring a broom and sweep off broken glass before you can skate. There is a nice skate run through the colleges. We have a cluster of colleges that are linked together by smooth wide concrete paths. Not a lot of skaters on the college run, only skateboarders and bicyclist.

So you are East of Pasadena.
