Default Madrid Skating Marathon

Hi all,

Next week will be the second edition of the Madrid Skating Marathon (Spain - 14th June). As usual, there isn't a specific classification for Quad skaters, however we are allowed (and welcome) to participate there.

42km in a 3km circuit (14 laps) in the center of Madrid, in the Bravo Murillo Street.

I will be there with my Quads, and I hope to find more Quad Skaters. It seems the weather will be awesome.

You can find further details in the following web page: http://maratonpatinajemadrid.com/

Regards,
Guille

It's the second edition. Several years ago (in fact, a lot of years ago) there was a Skating Marathon or Half Marathon in Madrid (I was one time, when I was a teenager), but during the last years there wasn't any until last year.

Now, in this second edition, is expected more than 700 skaters for the Half Marathon (21K) , more than 200 skaters for the Marathon (42K), and about 1300 for the 6K. Well... I'm afraid there will be only a few Quad Skaters (I guess)....

However, as far as I know, there will be some world champions and european champions next Sunday. For example, last year was Patxi Peula, the current World Champion in 10000 points. He was the one who won last year Madrid Marathon.

Guille

Hi all,

I found a video from one of the skaters who was skating the Half Marathon in Madrid.

At the beginning of the video you can see my friend and me skating in Quads. We finished in 1h 43m, skating together all the time.

https://vimeo.com/130876186

The winner in the Marathon was Patxi Peula again (the World Champion). He did it in 1h 14m, but there was an issue in the race, and most of the people (including Patxi) did 45km instead of 42km (one more lap, or maybe the distance per lap was wrong, not sure).

I will try to post some pictures...

Regards,
Guille

I already upload a new blog post to the Madrid Roller Quad web site about the Madrid Skating Marathon, with some pictures and the link to the video: http://www.madridrollerquad.es/event...drid_2015.aspx

It was a good experience. However, there are some Skating Marathons more interesting in Spain, like the Pamplona Puente (in September, the best event) and the Martin Fiz (the one I did in May).

A couple of pictures, with our Under Armour compression T-Shirt based in Spiderman ;-)

Guille

Yes, I guess I saw you at the end, talking with my friend Curro (InGravity team).

I'll be in P2P 2015, so maybe I'll see you there in just a few weeks... In the meanwhile, it's training season... I wish to improve my last year time in 10 minutes or more.

Regards,
Guille
