Nice race. Good total time. My best marathon distance time to date is only 2:05, solo.

you are very kind. the kiss-of-death for me on this race was not having the needed acceleration to close the gap that happened the '3-try water station' (bad handoff attempts caused 2 dropped bottles and I slowed more and more). Realizing I was going to break up the lead pack, I moved aside to let younger legs make the pull. Then, mind-fade set in as they blew past and for a moment I didn't realize I wasn't jumping onto the back. After that moment there was nothing else to do but wave goodbye to their backsides. If I hadn't screwed up I probably would have not lost 8 minutes.

there was a speedweasle with a gopro that I think stayed with the leaders... anyone know the guy and know if he'll post his race video? I'd really like to see it!

On your grade measurement, is negative grade downhill? Nice vid by the way.

green (negative) is supposed to be downhill (easy going), red (positive) is supposed to be uphill (hard going).
for some reason my GPS data gets really out of whack from time to time. I kind of like the visual of the green/red "grade" wedge rather than the scrolling elevation tape on the side like some folks have used. your thoughts on its usability?

Derivatives are always a tricky thing when it comes to noise. I really like what some have done with the grade across the top of their video. I like your color change too. The scrolling elevation thing on some vids isn't very useful. I like the top of this video.
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Ms7OkPfdZlM The digital grade at the top isn't too useful, just the plot. |

Tonight I tried to get graphs like your example vid... but the graphs in DashWare (from GoPro) just won't behave at all for me. Plus, my data is really spikey and plots really poorly... I'm glad my speedo and incline appear to have some smoothing and damping.

Bjv, check the data inputs you have selected in Dashware. Also, what are you using to track your GPS data? That can make the difference. DashWare has some pre-sets, but seems to work best with Garmin data files.
Kuf, you can mess with it Excel, but the conversion back to the GPS data file can make it messy and DashWare doesn't like to do any more work than necessary. It is really designed just to overlay existing data. CycleCam used to have a tool for changing those values, but it was impossible to work with since it broke the data down bit by bit, and you never really knew what was accurate.
