Ask DocSk8 (Expert Indoor Skate Building Advice) This forum is different then the other SkateLog forums in that it is not a discussion forum, but rather a place you can ask skate building expert Fred "DocSk8" Benjamin about building and repairing indoor speed, derby, and jamskate quad roller skates. Default SST

Doc, I am looking for the smaller diameter pivot cushions that fit SST plates. I will have to drill the bore out to 14mm for the cups but the frame will be a little thin. Very thin walls would be there, maybe it is enough. I found that the SG standard trucks actually fit rather well with a tall stack of tapers like I like to use without machining the plate. It may just make a good outdoor plate for fitting large wheels onto. But still got to skate them first to see how it is going to act. So pivot cushions are what I am looking for with 7/16 bore.
Edited: 14mm bore.. my bad...

Unless the smaller cushion cups are too restrictive in the action.
Also, do you have any SST bare plates in size 7? Thanks

Sorry, no luck with 7 SSTs. I have one or 2 still about but they are like 4s or 5s.

You are asking about rubber pivot bushings for non adjustable actions?? If so I don't have anything smaller than the SG bits. I will be in the SeSS warehouse in about a month and will look for anything with a thinner wall.. Maybe an old "Junior" plate. As far as any rubber bushed pivot. The will always load the action anytime the bushing is being compressed ( yes unlike urethane rubber will compress a bit depending on how it is compounded) / distorted by the pivot pin. It just operates on the opposite end with less leverage but still acts adversely on the action.

I'm going to go ahead and bore them out to 14mm. Then I will have SG pivot bushings available anytime. I pulled some out of some jr SG plates but they were also larger bushings. The larger rubber cups with thicker walls will give more and not restrict action so this should also be a plus. Thanks Doc.
