Definitely!! I just wanted to try out the longer frame... Personally I love the 13.2! Bret said I could fit 110's in this frame. It looks like there is plenty of room!

I gotta say that those Mogemas feel great! And that's probably why they are so heavy!!

Weighed my skates yesterday at the post office and thought I'd give this thread a bounce. Looks like I'm the fat kid on the block: 1400g each (3.1 lbs). I'm looking forward to the weight savings when I move to a 4-wheel rig.

5x84 setup: men's size 12 Powerslide R2 boots, K2 Straight 84 frame, Hyper +G 85a wheels, VXB 608 bearings.

Does anyone know if any of the custom bootmakers' boots tend to be lighter than the others'?

My custom Pinnacles are 390grams w/o mounting bolts (410 with bolts).

My opinion is that customs are lighter because they require less "filling" material which stock boots use to fit "standard" feet.

Others think stocks and boots are about the same. I haven't gotten a chance to weight any stock boots.

SSBoots.com has made boots in the low 300's and so far I think they are the lightest ones.

I wish Sheldon would have taken the challenge to weight his 3 point Bonts. That would have enlightened us about the frame/boot weight distribution!

I'll let you know how my McDaniels do when I get them... I asked him for a superstiff shell so we'll see!

i just got a chance to weigh my skates...

1125, and 1127
Pinnacle Tsunami custom boot, ION 4x100 frames, Liberty Bearings and some MPC wheels

i have lightened up the Tsunami model over the Classic model significantly, the averege (size 9) Tsunami weighs just around 335-340 grams. I built a size 6 and it weighed 319 grams

i weighed my boots only - new Mcdaniels - and they weighed 385 grams each. If i add up the other componenets, based on published weights (from memory), i come up with 1185 per skate. I don't have a scale, or i'd verify it.

On/In,
Not bad weight at all for your new McDaniels ... specially since you are on 110's!!
But I'd still like to see how much your stock Simmons boots weight by themselves!

yeah, i would too, so i did (weigh them). the Simons were 27 grams lighter per skate. that's not very much, considering that the McDaniels are significantly roomier and had leather lining instead of neoprene.

Parik,
Jimmy has a Myspace page

If you're registered with Myspace (it's quick and easy) you can look at some of his boots (including the Tsunami) and cycling shoes in his photo album.

HA, why ?

im working on getting some other materials, to offer it for custom boots if some people want to make it even (dare i say) lighter.

I am offering the choice for Neoprene liner, or the standard natural leather, neoprene will ligten it up a few grams, and some people prefer a synthetic material.

I will soon offer synthetic microfiber outer also, as to lightnen and provide a diffreten look as it had patterens in it, unlike natural regular leather.

i will also be building my (custom) cycling shoes with neoprene, and microfiber outers.

Or I'd wave to you every day as you lived out of your car on Alki...Like the people with the VW bus that set out the parasol and cooler on a nice day.

Oh, come on Mark. You know whith all the old wheels we collect and can't get rid of, not to mention the old sets of frames and boots, we could never fit it into a VW Bus. Hey, are you going to drive me into Fort Lewis again this winter when i forget my Registration and they won't let me drive onto the base for the race? That was no broken down VW bus you were driving last year!

Old wheels and frames...That's just car art, no need to waste precious interior space

I got rid of all my old wheels! I gave them to the team

I'll dump you in the back of the pick up and drive you in again...Hey I added the race to the teams "official" schedule.

Getting back to the thread, I know I'm being a spoil sport, I'll have to weigh my indoor skates again once I get some wheels from George...going to the 2+2. I'll also have to weigh Madeline's once I mount the 12" 3W 110 (in pink! Thank you George!). It's funny when George first posted about having made a 3x84 on RaceReports 2 years ago I asked if he'd make it in pink...It took a while and it grew a bit but...

you get the prize!
i;'m heading in the opposite direction as these Am-Wing wheels are heavier than my previous wheels.
And i never really trusted those mini-bearings.
Good luck this weekend.
