I'm working on building overall conditioning so today is a gym day. Squats, deadlifts and bench press with some core work mixed in between.

Missed 4 days over a back strain. Got back in yesterday.
Feeling good today, with 77 degrees expected and light winds.

Skated 51.4 miles today on my Powerslide EVO inlines. Weather was perfect at the local Rail-Trail. Did not set out to skate that far, I just never got tired until the last 3 miles. second time in 20 days I broke 50 miles. What is wrong with me?

You got it real bad!

I made up for the lost days by doing two a days all week! Learned a lot over the week. Here, it's easier to just show you. Pretty proud of this 40 foot soul grind!

Strained my left MCL last Wednesday in a sissy little fall. Basically, I hit a small stick during a double-push when my left foot was inboard beyond my center of gravity - the worst possible place to lose traction. Well, it's a love hate relationship. They all love to hate me! (skateboarders mostly lol).

Damn shame about the knee. Here's what I do for mine when I crash (all the time). Blue emu, alternating Tiger balm, copper infused compression knee sleeve, ice and heat, hot tub etc..... Works for me. Get back on those skates soonest!

Yeah, today I picked up a "Mad Max" style knee brace with the metal hinges down the sides. The knee is actually doing pretty well but I don't want any setbacks. No doubt I could skate with this knee brace if I wanted to without concern. My knee will NOT move sideways in this thing. Likely I will just switch to the longboard for another week as the pushing of that thing is linear front to rear, not side to side. I have zero fear of the longboard right now with the brace on, so don't feel too sorry for me. Weather clears out by Friday and I WILL SKATE on something.

Thanks a bunch for the healing recipe! I figured you tweak your knees occasionally.

Oh well. I hardly ever post in this thread but today is good one. I went out on a 26 mile loop day. I don't normally do a long skate and often not any skate on Monday's as it is too soon after Sunday's hard workout on Canada Road. However, I'm going to a trade show tomorrow and starting a new job on Wednesday so this was the last chance.
Excellent conditions. Set new records on a couple of sections and the total. This has been my standard mid-week skate work-out since November. I'm going to miss it.

Ironically, since you asked, this was the first week I didn't skate at all in 2017. Vacation with the wife. Bad weather, etc. Knee is 100% and scrapes are all healed up. Seems strange not nursing some injury. Back at it this week if the rain lets up.

3 sessions x10 miles in two days (about 32 total all on inlines). Should hit 50-60 this week. I am off work Fri and Sat so the miles should pile up. Probably spend the day on a longboard tomorrow.
