Default The DACA debacle

So..... some years back, Obama decides that he does not want to enforce immigration Law. Not cool for a President, as Presidents are sworn to uphold the law. Well, anyways, they did not want to deport the kids brought over as kids to the US. Obama tries to get Congress to change the law. I think they tried 7 times. Not sure on that number, but multiple times. No go.

So Obama decides to circumvent law and creates DACA. Kind of cheap, or clever, depending on where you stand on the issue. It was arguably not in opposition to the law, but it really is, it is just "deferring" action.

So DACA is going to expire unless Trump renews it. He will not. People go crazy. Trump is evil. Not really. Trump is just doing the job he signed on for. Upholding the law. But he threw in a twist. A 6 month and 2 year grace period. This give congress time to act, and come up with a DACA- like law.

I think this has been one of the most brilliant moves Trump has made. Well, getting out of the Paris Accords was MUCH better financially. But as a Political move this is great.

1. It does not throw anybody under the bus immediately.
2. He keeps his promise to end DACA
3. It gives Congress AMPLE time to come up with a solution.

Just a brilliant move.

What really knocks me out is the response from Congress. They rant and rave about the injustice of it. They should make every Congressperson and every NewsPerson read from a script about DACA.
It would read:
Trump will not renew DACA, but will take no action against Dreamers for 2 years. This gives Congress Ample time to address this issue via legislation.

They should ALL be required to say that, and not all the non-sense they are spewing.

Just found this. Some proposed laws to replace DACA.
The sky has not fallen. Congress just needs to act.

But he gets the blame for parents or kids not having their papers... The parents brought them over here and did not get things going toward citizen ship, but it's Trump's fault for correcting obozo's ploy. If the parents are illegal, they know they are. It would have been in their interest to get legal and their kids legal. If they did not, it is not Trump's fault they are in a jam now, they screwed up.
Now Trump has congress in the corner. If congress don't get it together, they are going to look pretty stupid in a few months. Last I heard was that a few months ago(close to when TRUMP WON), contact by illegals to immigration lawyers went up several hundred percent. Wonder why? They knew this was coming. What do you think a border wall is for anyway, walking along the top watching birds? The illegals knew this was coming. Now things have to be done the right way or not....at all.

Yep. Trump will get blamed. Very unfair. He did the proper thing. Went back to LAW. But, he VERY GENEROUSLY built in some time for Congress, the branch of Government that is supposed to handle this, to handle it.

Fantastic job by the President, but again, he gets beat up for it.
